Press Briefing
Launch of Amnesty International Report 2009
An embargoed press briefing will take place in London on Wednesday 27 May 2009.
Irene Khan, Secretary General of Amnesty International, will highlight the impact of the economic crisis on human rights across the world.
The Amnesty International Report 2009 provides a comprehensive global overview of the state of human rights. The 400-page report covers more than 150 countries and outlines human rights abuses carried out during 2008. It reflects the organization’s work during the past year to promote human rights and sets the agenda on tackling human rights issues in the year ahead.
The event will also mark the launch of a major new campaign from Amnesty International that will address poverty and human rights abuses.
